The organization\u2019s commitment to amplifying the voices of the Global South in international forums was evident in the International Red Lines Subgroup of the UNESCO Global CSO and Academic Network on AI Ethics and Policy. IT for Change convened more than 40 organizations to explore baselines across the AI value chain \u2014 conditions necessary for AI systems to be compatible with human rights, social justice, and planetary sustainability. Their work expanded the Subgroup\u2019s scope of red lines beyond prohibited use cases to labor harms, market concentration, and lack of participation in AI development.<\/p>\n

IT for Change has been an active and valued member of the Digital Trade Alliance (DTA). The breadth of research carried out by IT for Change, including research at the intersection of digital rights and development, brings a unique and valuable perspective to our work. Our partnership has helped raise awareness amongst the public and policymakers on how digital trade issues are critical to governance of the digital economy. IT for Change has been involved with framing DTA positions on several emerging digital trade issues. It has helped to draft analysis, public statements, as well as submissions to regulatory bodies, and assisted the DTA with organizing public-facing events. We look forward to continued collaboration with IT for Change in the years ahead.<\/p>\n

We found that the initiative had made a significant contribution in encouraging the organizations to recognize and incorporate into their planning women\u2019s lived experiences, particularly at the technology design level, and also deepen the gender focus in their technology implementation.
\nThe project\u2019s explicit focus on gender \u2014 and its feminist framing \u2014 also was seen in how the starting point (of building technology, of designing work flows) was the women\u2019s lives and how their work \u2014 paid and unpaid fit within that. The ITfC project team\u2019s adaptability and resilience in the face of field realities allowed for mutual learning to occur in a way that was itself gender responsive.
\nWe find through our evaluation that ITfC brought a valuable mix of intellectual rigor and field-facing pragmatism to the way in which the project was designed, implemented, and documented. Their ability to listen closely to voices from the field, adapt to different challenges without losing focus, and their commitment to a feminist vision helped steer the project successfully.<\/p>\n

I also deeply appreciate IT for Change\u2019s commitment to anchoring and nurturing communities for critical research, centering perspectives that too often remain at the margins.<\/p>\n

From our science classes, we only knew the names of the reproductive organs. We didn't know how a baby develops in the womb, or how sex hormones change during adolescence. We learnt all of this through the Kishori Club module on sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR). Since I am in the 10th standard, understanding these concepts was especially important for my exams. I was able to answer questions on this topic because the Kishori Club module explained it so simply. <\/span><\/p>\n

The Kishori Club curriculum gives adolescent girls (kishoris) information that truly matters. Many girls study well up to the 10th standard, but when we meet them a year later, or sometimes even sooner, we find they are already married, and often soon to be mothers, when they are barely out of their teens. It saddens us to see how few opportunities they have. In the Kishori Club, girls learn about adolescence, the psychological changes that come with this phase of life, and life skills that help them realize their potential and build empowered lives.<\/p>\n

The Language Enrichment through Audio Story-based Pedagogy (LEAP) training by IT for Change helped me understand how technology and audio stories can be used effectively for language education. The training gave me practical ideas on how to use digital resources to make language learning more engaging and meaningful for students.
